After 35 years of dedicated service in the medical profession, Julie Pike traded her stethoscope for a metal detector following her retirement three years ago.

What started as a retirement gift quickly turned into a full-blown passion. For Julie, detecting isn’t just a hobby, it’s about the thrill of the hunt, the preservation of history, and the joy of the recovery.

Julie is a seasoned detectorist who chronicles her outdoor adventures on her YouTube channel, “Coffee to go with Julie and MJ.” Since joining the Ontario Ring Recovery team, she has already proven her skill with successful recoveries throughout 2025.

​While she loves the excitement of a rare find, Julie’s true motivation is the “return.” She believes there is no feeling that compares to the moment a lost ring is placed back into the hands of its rightful owner.
